KVC Health Systems formally announced plans Wednesday for a new mental wellness campus to be built in Olathe. The effort gained a boost with a grant from Kansas. KVC said it formed a joint venture with a yet-to-be-named partner to build a 72-bed inpatient mental health facility, according to a release. The project will include three separate 24-bed units, with a total of 48 pediatric beds and 12 adult beds, along with six private courtyards, and dining and activity space. "The need is great," said Sara Schlagel, vice president of Camber Mental Health, a KCV subsidiary that will operate the new facility.
