OLATHE, Kan. — Five months ago, first responders rushed to Olathe East High School, after shots were fired in that school. Thursday, district leaders told the community what they're doing to prevent this from happening again. Part of that plan is a new emergency alert system that is already installed in every single Olathe school. A badge will be on every staff member in the Olathe School District when school resumes this fall. A new safety measure added they say that will help encourage their staff.
